Qantas Airways says a flight from Dallas/Fort Worth to Brisbane over the weekend arrived more than 14 hours late due to fog.

Flight QF8 was on route from North Texas and due to arrive at 0500 AEST on Sunday when weather forecasts indicated fog at Brisbane Airport would prevent the flight landing at that time.

A Qantas spokeswoman said the flight crew initially planned to divert to Noumea, but fog at the New Caledonian capital as well meant the Boeing 747-400ER headed for Nadi, in Fiji.
