Income levels in the The Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area cover a wide spectrum, but when it comes to high-end incomes, DFW is in the top 5 percent of the nation.That’s according to an analysis by On Numbers of data from the Census Bureau    ‘s 2010 American Community Survey that ranked DFW as the 44th most-affluent metropolitan area out of the nation’s 942 metro and micropolitan areas.

Out of the 2,207,245 households in the DFW area, 114,287 reported having income and benefits worth more than $200,000 per year, according to On Numbers. That’s 5.18 percent of the area’s households.

The top metro area in the nation is Bridgeport-Stamford, Conn, where 16 percent of the households report income of more than $200,000, On Numbers reported.

The top Texas city was Midland, where 6.64 percent of the households reported income of more than $200,000, placing that city in 17th position.

Granbury, which is just southwest of the DFW area, ranked 63rd, with 4.48 percent of its 23,163 households reporting high income.
