1 Killed in Fire Outside Fort Worth Restaurant

When firefighters responded to a call at a south Fort Worth restaurant early Tuesday morning, they made a gruesome discovery in the charred ruins. About 2 a.m., a man was found dead inside a semi-trailer parked next to The Rig Steakhouse at 6308 South Freeway near Altamesa Boulevard.
Investigators believe he was a homeless man who was staying in the trailer with the restaurant owners’ permission. Crews quickly doused the flames on the trailer and notified the medical examiner. The restaurant building was not damaged.
Contestant dies in Fort Worth’s Mud Run

The body of a 30-year-old Dallas man who was participating in a so-called mud run has been recovered from the Trinity River. Fort Worth police say they do not suspect foul play in the death of Tony Weathers. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
The Original Mud Run DFW, with two obstacle courses through water and mud, took place Saturday in Fort Worth. Family and friends reported Weathers missing when he did not show up following the end of the competition.
