A 21-month-old boy is dead, the victim of a late night drowning in a Fort Worth apartment complex pool. Fort Worth police Capt. Kevin Rodricks told NBC 5 that the boy, Jordan Evans, was in the pool area with his father at The Club at Fossil Creek Apartments, along the 3400 block of Western Center Boulevard, late Tuesday night. Fort Worth police have arrested a man they said killed a woman seven years ago. Tawnya Thomas remembers her mother Gloria Choice as a spontaneous and joyous person. But her life was cut short when she was murdered in 2005.

Police found Choice’s body inside a vacant apartment in the Woodhaven neighborhood. She had been beaten and died of severe head injuries. Scotti Choice said his mother sometimes went to that apartment complex to visit friends. “They beat her like a dog, like a pure animal,” he said.
